wildfire - where were you tonight? I thought you were coming! gdbaby77 - you didn't call! Hope to see you tomorrow (I dunno what I'll be wearing, so it may be more difficult to find me - maybe a green sweatshirt & black jeans - but we should still be at/near the top row in the green seats). Did you enjoy the racing?

I heard that the ISU Live Stream was a winner! *thumbs up* They’re planning to broadcast again during tomorrow’s Medal Rounds, starting at 3pm Mountain Time. livemanager.eurovision.edgesuite.net/isu/site/index.htmlIf you scroll down from the Live Feed window, you’ll see videos from some of the races! --------------------------------------- In tonight’s World Cup action: Ladies’ 1500M(1) … Katherine Reutter and Emily Scott made it into the A Final, where Katherine won GOLD! Emily narrowly missed a bronze medal - by 72/100ths of a second! Jessica Smith ended up in the B Final, but incurred a penalty. Ladies’ 1000M … Lana Gehring and Alyson Dudek both made it into the A Final. Lana had one of the closest finishes of the meet, missing the gold medal by 18/100ths of a second to Japanese skater Yui Sakai. Lana skated a great race, and you could tell how disappointed she was. Congrats to Lana on the silver! Alyson won the bronze - it was her first-ever individual World Cup medal! In Sarah Chen’s Quarterfinal, she skidded out in a tangle with Canada’s Marianne St-Gelais. St-Gelais received a penalty, and Sarah was advanced. Her luck ran out in the Semifinals - she finished 4th… and 4th in the B Final. Men’s 1500M(1) … Kyle Carr and John-Henry Krueger ended up 4th & 5th, respectively, in their semifinals. John-Henry qualified for the B Final, where he won BIG against far more seasoned skaters - it was beautiful to watch! We didn’t have any skaters in the A Final, which was won by Charles Hamelin (CAN). Men’s 1000M … J.R. Celski made it into the A Final, but had a rough trip and incurred a penalty - the race was won by Kwak Yoon-Gy (KOR), who seems to be gaining many USA fans! Kyle Uyehara was 3rd in his quarterfinal, and 2nd in the C Final. Relay Semifinals… USA Men and Ladies had a tough row to hoe. The men were up against China, Korea and Japan - The ladies had to compete against China, Korea and Italy. (Huh???). The ladies had some tough luck with a fall in the exchange that they couldn’t recover from and they did not advance, but the men qualified in 2nd place with a nail-biter. After cruising along in last place for quite awhile, J.R. Celski made a great pass to improve our position - but it was so close to the exchange that the incoming skaters couldn’t adjust, and we were again in last place. Not long after, J.R. pushed John-Henry Krueger into 3rd place, then followed up with another push of JHK to give us second place! J.R. was the anchor man, and he held the 2nd position till the end. Awesome race, guys! In the other men’s semifinal, there was contact between Great Britain and Netherlands when they were in 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. NED received a penalty, and GBR was advanced (meaning 5 teams in the A Final - yikes!) JAPAN has become a force to be reckoned with, especially the ladies - they’re getting ‘scary’ good! Congrats to Yui Sakai on her 1000M gold medal!

@lori I'm soooo sorry. I got there just before the game and I was waiting for the skaters to come out after the game was over. And my group wanted to leave right away so I couldn't really find the time to meet you up. I really wanted to see you though. I'm gon make an effort to get there early tomorrow so we can meet up then!
You probably found me today-I was in the very back waving the Korean flag and screaming like crazy. The camera caught me twice! So proud of me!!!! HAHAHAHAHA It was kinda embarrassing but the players saw me, too!!
And I might as well give you my number. I'll PM you :-)

The Repechage Round is over - we had Sarah Chen and Jonathan Garcia in the 500M for the USA.
Unfortunately, neither one advanced to tonight's races. Jonathan incurred a penalty in the heats - Sarah fell victim to some jostling in the first turn and was never able to recover.
Glad to hear that the Live Stream is working well - I'm looking forward to watching some of their recorded videos later!
Racing starts again in about 1 hour (3pm Mountain Time). Good luck, team USA!
