Don’t forget! Our Junior team (Lexi Burkholder; Adam Callister; Cole Krueger; John-Henry Krueger; Kendal Pumphrey; Katy Ralston; James Rodowsky and Rachel Stewart) will be competing in the JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS this weekend in Cormayeur, Italy. (Feb 25-27) We’ll be here, following the team through the weekend – please join us to cheer them on! Many of the skaters who compete on the Junior team will be our Olympians of the future - junior team members in recent years include Alyson Dudek; Katherine Reutter; Jeff Simon; Simon Cho; J.R. Celski and Lana Gehring, as well as World Cup skaters Morgan Izykowski; Robert Lawrence, Kyle Uyehara and Sarah Chen. Courmayeur is 6 hours ahead of Eastern time; 9 hours ahead of Pacific – so we’ll be on a similar timetable as last weekend for the Dresden World Cup. Action will most likely start overnight on Thursday near the midnight hour for the West Coast; 3AM-ish for the East Coast. EDIT: The schedule on the ISU site is up - it shows a Day 1 start time of 1pm local time - that would be 7am FRIDAY morning Eastern; 4am Pacific...Links: ISU Schedule/Data Feed - www.sportresult.com/federations/ISU/ShortTrack/?sea=99899800000025It’s still showing the Dresden schedule right now, but the JWC schedule should show up on Thursday morning. On Thursday night FRIDAY MORNING, watch for the red LIVE button in the menu bar when the skating starts! JWC Official Website - www.wjcc2011.it/home.php?pag=venue.htmlIn the upper right corner, you’ll see LIVE STREAMING!!! Let’s cross our fingers that it really happens, and that it’s visible in the USA!!! EDIT: Here's the direct link for the (possible) Live Video Feed:www.wjcc2011.it/live.phpSeveral of the skaters are affiliated with Robert Morris University – there will be a blog during the competition at – rmuspeedskating.wordpress.com/There’s one entry already, with more to come! Let’s support these kids this weekend!

Lexi is third, Katy is 2nd - both advance! Elena Viviani (ITA) was in the lead in Heat 6 and fell with the Japanese skater - I'm thinking Elena will get advanced... ... and she does! FYI, Elena takes BEAUTIFUL photos, and has always given us permission to use them on our forum. I've been uploading some of her pics from Moscow and Dresden to post soon!

Rachel is 2nd, and advances!
Next: Men's 1500M Heats:
Heat 4 - John-Henry Krueger Heat 11 - Cole Krueger Heat 12 - James Rodowsky
Top 2, plus 10 fastest thirds advance
Zamboni break - racing starts at :05 past the hour
I'll also be unabashedly cheering for the Italian team - I've already told you about the connection to Elena Viviani. Tommy Dotti lived with us last summer (BTW, his dad is the rink announcer). And though I haven't met them yet, we're scheduled to host the other 2 (maybe 3) on the jr. men's team this summer - so I wish them well! ;D

John-Henry, Cole and James were all third, but their times were fast enough to advance! Is is just me, or does the starter seem a bit slow with the gun? Seems to be a lot of false starts for a 1500M...

Zamboni break - racing resumes at :25 past the hour All 6 USA skaters have advanced, as have all of 'my Italians'... A few things I noticed: 1) Bosnia-Hercegovina has (at least) 3 skaters here, so Edin may have some company in the years to come! 2) There's a Pier-Olivier Gagnon skating for Canada - 'wonder if he's any relation to Marc? 3) There's also a Patrick Duffy from Canada - 'wonder if he's originally from Dallas? From oil baron to ST speedskater... (for you young'uns, 'Dallas' was a huge hit TV show many years ago, and one of the most popular stars was an actor named Patrick Duffy) Up next: Ladies 1500M Quarterfinals Heat 3: Lexi Burkholder Heat 4: Rachel Stewart Heat 5: Katy Ralston Top 3 (per heat) advance
