Katy finished in 2nd place and will advance! Rachel was in qualifying position for most of the race, but was caught in the last lap by the Japanese skater, finishing third - she will not advance. Lexi was in a tough heat with skaters from both China and Korea - she finished third and will not advance. Next: Men's 1000M Prelims Heat 4: John-Henry Krueger Heat 6: James Rodowsky Heat 15: Cole Krueger Top 2 advance There will probably be an ice resurface before the men start, so I'm gonna catch a quick nap!

Okay, make that a trio - Cole also advances, finishing 2nd! ;D
There will be an ice resurface, then we'll see Katy in Heat 5 of the Ladies 1000M Heats - top 2, plus 4 fastest thirds will advance.
Congrats, also to Elena, Tommy, Andrea & Martina - my Italians who also advanced!

Cole was in a heat with Patrick Duffy (CAN) and Jack Whelbourne (GBR) - he finished third, and will not advance.
John-Henry finished a close third behind Yokoyama (JPN) and Jung (KOR) and does not advance.
James finished 4th in his heat and will not advance.
The competition is over for our USA skaters. EDIT: I totally forgot about the 1500M Superfinal - not sure how they decide who's gonna be in it...

I noticed that Timothy Dewispelaere (BEL) and Lee Hyo Been (KOR) were not competing today. Timothy fell yesterday, and Lee was the Korean who did not finish yesterday. If they're injured, I'm hoping they heal well!

Oh, wow - Xiao Han (CHN) has her work cut out for her in the final - it's her against 3 Koreans! Whelbourne (GBR) has made it into every final thus far - good show, Jack!

Whelbourne WINS!!! ...and is now tied with Seo of KOR in points for the overall lead. EDIT: Jack was wearing the red helmet cover in the Superfinal, so they must consider him the overall leader.
Was it just me, or did the ladies' 1000M podium ceremony seem a bit 'frosty'?

No USA skaters in the Superfinal - it's one race, top 6 skaters overall, and it will determine the overall champion. It's mostly a KOR/CHN show, but for the ladies, Lara Van Ruijven (NED) and Martina Valcepina (ITA) are still in the hunt, as is Jack Whelbourne (GBR) for the men.

A Korean sweep in the Ladies' Superfinal - this should give Cheon the overall championship! In the Men's Superfinal, Seo Yi Ra (KOR) was so far ahead that he spun around and crossed the finish line backwards... (I think) they said he set a new Jr. World record - Seo wins the overall Jr. World Championship! Whelbourne was second, and was very gracious to the winner.

Waiting for the relays - Lee Hyo Been (KOR) was in the Superfinal for the men, so he must be okay after his injury yesterday...
