As dose pointed out on the WC4 thread, the Korean men's team shattered the World Record in their qualifying heat last night - by 1.993 seconds! Congrats to Kwak Yoon-Gy (the anchor man), Lee Ho-Suk, Noh Jinkyu, and Sin Da Woon! Some articles are beginning to surface in my Google Alerts, but they're all subscription-only. If anyone sees info that's visible to the public, please post it!

So I'm assuming that for the men: Kwak Yoon-Gy (Overall World Champion) and Noh Jinkyu (1500M Champion) - and for the ladies: Cho Ha-Ri (1000M Champion) are all automatically on the team? I'm sorry to see that Sung Si-Bak has retired - but as he did not skate at all this season, I'm not surprised. He will be missed!

No. Must be Overall World Champions have the qualifications, so only Kwak Yoon-Gy can enter the national team at the next season. This season national team players will participate automatically the second round of the competition. In fact, Sung Si-Bak has been to shanghai in the World Championships. The TV had his lens in the men relay semifinal.
