World Championships starts on Friday! Montreal is on Eastern Time, so this will all take place at a civilized hour for USA!

IceNetwork.com is planning to broadcast for subscribers - here is the schedule:

Heat lineups and the OFFICIAL schedule should appear sometime tomorrow on SportResult at the following link:

If video fails, the above ISU SportResult link will also be your best alternative for live-time data results.

According to the IceNetwork schedule, racing (the 1500M) will begin on Friday at 1:31pm Eastern, 10:31am Pacific.

EDIT: It ALSO looks like the ISU SportResult Skating Channel video will be available in the USA (it usually isn't - it appears that it's only blocked in Russia). And it's free! Here's the link:

I got an email from USS Inside Track indicating that Universal Sports Online might also be streaming, and they posted links - but going to the links doesn't show any Short Track on the schedule.

I'm posting the related links for your info - if anyone sees this as a workable 3rd option in addition to IceNetwork-by-subscription or ISU-Skating-Channel-for-free (links posted above), please let us know.

Well, organization isn't exactly the ISU's or USS's strong suit when it comes to this kind of thing. Hopefully the links will work by tomorrow. (and if not, posting on their FB page that it isn't working does seem to get some sort of timely response...not necessarily fixed, but a response... )

Oh, darn - it looks like they started at 9am - I didn't check for updates before I went to bed last night.

But - both of our ladies advanced to the 1500M Semifinals, as did J.R. The officials are reviewing Chris' race now.

There was contact between Chris and GBR's Jack Whelbourne - Jack was penalized and Chris (who finished 3rd) will qualify for the Semis!

EDIT: Looks like Chris would have qualified as a fastest third even without the Penalty.

BTW, The ISU Skating Channel option is working beautifully - less hassle than signing in and running the IceNetwork labyrinth!

Looks like we're wearing our blue-sleeve skins, not the Olympic ones...

Emily finished 4th and will not advance - in Jessica's heat, she was leading the race, but behind her there was contact between Arianna Fontana (ITA) and Park Seung-Hi (KOR). Jessica eventually finished 3rd behind Kexin Fan (CHN) and Fontana, but Fontana received a Penalty so Jessica qualified! Park was advanced.

The Men are skating now.

Uh-oh - Chris was in 2nd, but fell after contact with Fauconnet (FRA). We'll see if they review it...
