Both USS and Ohio Speedskating have announced that racing starts at 8:15am (Eastern) - so they should be racing now. However, AmCup2 is running concurrently with the Ohio Invitational Meet. The AmCup warmups/racing will begin after the first round of Ohio Invite races.

In the 1500M, the ladies' winners were (if I'm remembering right) - Tamara Frederick; Kimberly Derrick; Erin Bartlett; Katy Ralston. Some of the second places that I remember were Morgan Izykowski and Kendal Pumphrey.
I got a phone call during the men's races, so I don't recall too many - I know Kyle Uyehara and Cole Krueger were 1-2 in their race; I think John-Henry Krueger, Kyle Haun, Chris Creveling and Jonathan Garcia all advanced.
The best way for y'all to keep up is to watch Tony's feed & chat! It'll be starting back up in a couple minutes.

1500M Semifinals - I don't know how many advance, but here are the ones I'm pretty sure advanced:
Tamara Frederick; Ana Pacanins; Kimberly Derrick; Kyle Uyehara; Cole Krueger; John-Henry Krueger; Levi Kirkpatrick
They're running the local meet now - the AmCup is scheduled to start again at 3:30 Eastern
BTW, because this is not an event that determines team selection, non-US citizens can skate. Jill Gilday, sister of Canadian Michael Gilday, is skating, as well as a few others.

Well, there's never a shortage of excitement in short track. Unfortunately, in Cleveland, there's a definite shortage of POWER.
Just after the Men's 1500M B Final, power went out. Still waiting for it to be restored.
Hearing that it may be 6pm (Eastern) before power is restored. I saw a FB photo of the rink - there's enough natural daylight that everyone's not completely in the dark, but not enough light for racing.
Before the power outage, Kimberly Derrick won the Ladies' 1500M A Final, followed by (I think) Jill Gilday, Ana Pacanins and Erin Bartlett. Sarah Burg and Tamara Frederick fell, and I lost track of how they finished.

Latest word (from Tony) is that they're cancelling races for the day. Murphy's Law strikes again! 'Gives a new definition to "That's Short Track"...

I'll be putting together more results from the weekend later, but for now, here were the winners: Overall: Morgan Izykowski; Jonathan Garcia 1500M: Kimberly Derrick; Jonathan Garcia 500M: Morgan Izykowski; Jonathan Garcia 1000M: Lexi Burkholder; Jonathan Garcia 1500M Super Final: Morgan Izykowski; Jonathan Garcia Ummm, did you notice that Jonathan won EVERY distance? Also, kudos to newcomer Lexi Burkholder for winning the 1000M for the Ladies - she was too young to compete in AmCup1! I was very impressed with her at Nationals last March and can't wait to see what the future holds for her!
