Kyle Carr incurred a PEN in that race, and it was won by France's Thibaut Fauconnet, who also won the Gold in the 1000M last week in Montreal - good show, Fauconnet!
Ice resurface, then relays next...

Hi, Karen - thanks for your post! I heard the pads were bad in Quebec, and that seems to be confirmed with all the injuries. There was also a Kazakhstan skater, Artur Sultangaliyev, who apparently got his face cut by another skater's blade.

I noticed several other Did Not Starts, so it's possible that there are some more 'walking wounded' out there...
USA Ladies up now in the relay.

Woo-Hoo! The Ladies won their Semifinal, and will be in tomorrow's Final! Kudos to Emily Scott, who subbed for injured Alyson Dudek in that heat. The men will be up soon in the first SF heat - against Italy, Russia and Germany.

Yes, if I was reading the blinking numbers right, the ladies did seem to be 'in the weeds' for a bit, didn't they?
Lastly, the Men advance to tomorrow's Relay Finals! That's all for the day for the USA.
According to the ISU schedule, the Repechage Rounds resume tomorrow at 9:10am (Eastern) - we have Emily Scott and Robert Lawrence in the 500M Repechages, and Morgan Izykowski in the 1000M(2) Repechages. See you then!

Good morning! The ISU Live Feed was a bit slow for me this morning (for some reason it was still flashing on a Montreal race...) But we're underway! I got the feed just in time to see Robert Lawrence finish his first race - he advanced in the 500M Repechage Heats (2nd place). Emily's first race (the 500M Rep. QF) is coming up very soon. ------------------------------------ Reminder on links (and if anyone knows of others, let us know): Tony's Ustream chat (no video): www.ustream.tv/channel/shorttrackhdTony's Twitter: twitter.com/shorttrackHDISU Lap-By-Lap Data Feed (click on 'LIVE' in the Menu Bar) www.sportresult.com/federations/ISU/ShortTrack/?evt=11210300000003

They're running the 1000M(1) Rep Heats right now, but there are no USA skaters in them. Guillaume Bastille just advanced for the Canadians, and some other favorites coming up are Tommy Dotti (ITA) in Heat 4 and Niels Kerstholt (NED) in Heat 5.
After these races, Emily Scott will be up in Heat 1 of the 500M Rep QF - Top 2 per heat advance, plus 2 fastest thirds.

Emily Scott won her heat and will advance
3 More 500M Ladies Heats, then Robert Lawrence will be up in Heat 2 of 3 for the 500M Rep QF (Top 2 advance)
After those races, Morgan Izykowski will skate in Heat 4 of 4 in the 1000M(2) Rep QF (Top 2 advance)

Robert was third in his heat, but contrary to what the ISU site says, they DID take some thirds, and Robert advanced!
Morgan finished in qualifying position, but incurred a PEN for impeding, so she will not advance.
Next Up:
Emily Scott - 500M Rep SF - Heat 1 of 2 (Top 2 per heat advance) Robert Lawrence - 500M Rep SF - Heat 2 of 2 (Top 2 per heat advance)
Ice resurface now - racing resumes at :40 past the hour. I'm gonna use the time to get ready for church!

Emily was second in her SF heat and advances. Robert was third in his SF heat and does not advance - Tony reports that Robert was pushed out by another skater, but there was no call by the ref. After the 1000M(1) SF's, Emily will race in her Rep Final A - top two move on to this afternoon's QF's.
