Someone on Tony's Ustream asked about the difference between the 1500M(1) and the 1500M(2):
Each distance is raced 8 times over 6 World Cups. So in each World Cup, ONE distance is raced twice in order to accomplish this. In Montreal, it's the 1500M - in Quebec, it'll be either the 1000M or the 500M, and so on... they are separate races, and are in no way related.
Ladies are racing now - Katherine's up!

Kyle Carr was third - Repechage for him?
Heat 6: Anthony Lobello and F. Hamelin - and Tommy Dotti, who we hosted over the summer! Go 'Bello and Dotti!

Bello first - looks like Tommy took a tumble. Francois third? Tony says he slipped in the last turn... Looks like a lunch break - so I guess I'll get breakfast! EDIT: A post'er on Tony's UStream says action will resume at 2:07 Eastern time with the Ladies 500M - I'm off to do other 'stuff' till then!

Jessica advances (2nd), and so did Aly (1st) - a good day for the ladies in the 500M!

Men up - according to Tony, there was contact between Simon Cho and Masson (FRA) in the first turn, but the race was not restarted (referee's discretion in the 500M, 'cause there's often some jostling at the start). Simon wasn't able to recover and finished 4th.
On a positive note, Robert Lawrence won his heat!

Hey, there's a skater from INDIA, Subodh Balavant Patil - that's a new one... he didn't do well, but he (apparently) stayed on his feet and got some international experience!
