"Profound?"
Wowza, wondering what this is all about. I looked at your link, BBB, but couldn't make heads nor tails of it, so I'm afraid I'm gonna be of no help...

Please note there's another short track meet, the Great Lakes, which will be on the same ice, at about the same time, as the American Cup. So, if you skate short track, but don't want to skate AmCup, come skate the Great Lakes meet. Register by 9/28 webpoint.usspeedskating.org/files/Event_PDFs/1520_Event_RegForm.pdfIf you'd like to skate, but not compete, be part of the ice crew (block chasers, etc.) If you just want to watch, how'd you like a front row seat at the finish line. Be a timer or place judge! If you are interested in doing that, or ice crew, or other helping with the meet, let me know (japc@execpc.com). Thanks!

Hey, I'm here to tell ya' that volunteering at a meet is an absolute BLAST! For my very first volunteer experience I was a timer - for guess who? JR Celski!
If you live in the vicinity of this or any other club, do volunteer. It'll make you a lifelong fan. And welcome to the board, Jim!

Where is this list found? 29 man on this one but only 28 on us speed site? Hi, STrack8 - the list is the one you saw on the USS site. However, there's one skater who told me that he most definitely signed up, but for some reason he didn't show up on the list - so I added him. Welcome to the board!

Equally interesting is who is not there: Baver and Reutter. Hmmmm.....still, it's nice that other skaters will have an opportunity to represent the U.S. Hope all the injuries heal up quickly. Allison is still my heroine for her comeback from that terrible injury last year. Hope college is going well for the athletes catching up there.... OK for anyone in the Bay Area we are having races on October 17 in the morning at Oakland Ice Center. Since more of us will be racing (who volunteered for this weekend's races) we need more volunteers.

Allison seems to be using this post-Olympic year to continue to recuperate (just had the steel removed from her ankle a few months ago) as well as explore other areas - and more power to her for that - she seems to be doing some modeling.
