High Tech Meets Desperate Fans - FINALLY!For several years, Tony Chung (a skater himself) has been a great asset to speedskaters with his HD racing videos. I first became familiar with Tony at Ohnozone.net, and had the opportunity to meet him at the very first meet I ever attended, in 2007. Back then, he mostly filmed for training purposes, and his videos were not available to the public. But these days he's been given the freedom to let the public into his 'world', and he has wonderful videos on his website and on YouTube. During the 2009-2010 season he started doing Live Tweets from various meets - and in September 2010 - during the Canadian Fall World Cup Trials - he took things a step further and found a way to post live streaming video to those of us poor souls who have to sit home for most of the events. These USTREAM videos have the added bonus of allowing skaters and fans to chat with each other during the broadcasts. Tony's a great guy, and it seems appropriate to give him his own thread with links to all of the awesome sites he's created that make our lives as fans a bit more fun! My great hope is that if we support Tony's efforts in large enough numbers, maybe TV Sports Organizations will pay attention...  We'll always try to announce Tony's Streaming/Tweeting here at BB on the threads for the competitions that he's covering - but if we get lazy, please remind us! Oh thank you for posting that link aaosmts19...I'd never seen that and I'm especially glad it has the 'donate' button as well...much better and easier to access! Tony deserves to get it "paid forward" to him! Thanks again! |
