The first order of business for this new thread... Michelle is caught in a domain-name labyrinth at TheRockerFund.org. The domain name is owned by her, paid for thru next year, but apparently (a lesson learned for both of us) the domain name registrar is owned by... who is owned by... who is owned by... and on and on ad infinitum. Somebody 'effed up' along the way, and now Michelle is dealing with someone in the U.K. to try to get it straightened out. In the meantime, until she figures out who is the Chief amongst all these Indians, TheRockerFund.org can still be accessed directly through the hosting organization, AllWebco.com (who is NOT a part of this fiasco, and is helping any way they can). The roundabout URL is: 69.94.74.194Please visit TRF and be generous to these athletes - in our tough economic times, corporate sponsorships for both USS and the individual athletes are drying up, and with a Winter Olympics coming up in 10 months, it couldn't come at a worse time for our team.

I've updated the site, and you can read all about it under the News and Info tab. (especially where it says "HELP!") LOL. Also check out the Current SOTM tab if you haven't been there for a month. Some fun photos and other opportunities to support Short Track Speedskating. Thanks for everyones patience on the site's recent 'hick up'.

Congratulations to The Rocker Fund Skaters. 10 of the 12 skaters will compete at the Olympic Trials in September. (Skylar retired and Chris is dealing with injury) Now that they have earned the right to compete, they now have to figure out how to pay for it. (As one skater jokingly told me "Some of us are still trying to figure a way to make it without having to work a corner in Marquette") Here's the link to the TRF skaters Oly Trials tab to see what's new with the skaters and who is going. New photos by Teri Willingham from this weekends Desert Classic in SLC and Southern California training sessions by Jerry Search. More photos to come on the news section of the site. therockerfund.org/FORMgallery1.htmI know that finances are tight for everyone right now, but if you can spare a few bucks this season to send the skaters way to help with their expenses, they will greatly appreciate it.

For lack of a better place to put this, 'cause I didn't want to start a whole thread just for this.... If you're a member of facebook, Southern California Speedskating Association needs your help. Cast your vote for SCSSA with the Chase Community Giving charity site on Facebook to help out this much deserving club. My understanding is the charity that gets the most votes gets a hefty donation from Chase. Wilma Boomstra has turned out some amazing skaters. Not only are many of the skaters on the National team out of this club, so are most of The Rocker Fund skaters who rely on donations so the club can continue to train all these wonderful up and comers. So cast your vote! apps.facebook.com/chasecommunitygiving/charities/1209237?src=wallpost&ref=nf
