Okay, enough with the horn(s) in the arena - they're really annoying!

I'm not surprised that Elise Christie was a DNS in the Ladies A Final, but I'm a bit more surprised that neither John-Henry Krueger nor Charles Hamelin started in the Mens B Final.
I hope they're all gonna be okay...
Up next: The Ladies 500M Quarterfinals - USA has no Ladies left in this distance.

Did you see the face plant J.H. took? No reason to skate. Our guys have sewn up the 1500m spots for the Olympics.

Marianne St-Gelais was a DNS again - I don't recall any mis-haps in her races, but with the data feed it's hard to tell. Also, we had wondered about Wang Meng's absence in the Relay Heats after her fall - she's back in the 500M, so she must be okay!

Charles Hamelin is also a DNS.
Maybe all of these other 'mystery' DNS's (with the exception of Elise Christie who WAS injured) are as our guest BZSK8MOM said - no need to skate & risk injury if your country has already locked up their slots for Sochi in that distance.

I'm thinking that they probably all have some sort of minor injury like a pulled muscle so they're sitting it out to avoid something more serious because the spot is locked up. Charles Hamelin fell with JH and he may have aggravated his ankle which he injured at trials (just a guess).

Up next are the Semifinal rounds (Ladies, then Men) of the 500M. USA has no skaters remaining in this distance. My video feed is annoyingly choppy...
