Apparently it's being blocked from me for some reason, dose - I'm hoping for some miracle with the live racing, though! That CN's channel canceled live the opening ceremony, so we all can't watch it, but it will live races. I posted the second link is anther TV channel to Live it and the opening ceremony was long over. Now replay: v.pptv.com/show/oeZJxyibVBUOmJIw.html

I've updated the OP with all the info y'all need in order to follow this weekend's racing. Day 1 racing should last about 4 hours tonight. They'll be racing the 1500M and the Ladies' Relay Semifinals. Day 1 at the World Championships is unlike Day 1 at World Cups - i.e., it isn't just Preliminary Rounds. Medals will be awarded for the 1500M.Join us tonight at midnight EST; 11pm CST; 10pm MST; 9pm PST! (And hopefully, dose can hook us up with a link to some live video!) ---------------------------------- EDIT: Some have asked me why the ISU live video feed (whether pay or free) is blocked in certain countries. My understanding is that it has to do with broadcast rights. For instance, I believe that NBC Universal holds the broadcast rights for ST here in the USA. If they intend to exercise those rights - either with their own live broadcast, or taped for a later date, then we have no way to see it live here in the USA through USA-based channels. I'm guessing that the reason the World Cups were available to us is because NBC Universal had no plans to broadcast those events. I'm assuming this is the same situation in the other blocked countries, though some countries (such as China & Korea) have networks that DO choose to broadcast live. The BBC sometimes does the same thing for the Europeans. Sometimes we're lucky enough to be able to tap into those broadcasts on the internet, and sometimes not... ... but we're always grateful to our international members who post those 'possible' links - and who multitask to give us info that we can't see from the data feed! I might be 'full of it' in my explanation above, but it's my best understanding of how the process works!

Thank you for the link, Dose. I watched the opening ceremonies. The picture quality is outstanding. The ceremony was very impressive. Loved the 'dancing' skates! I hope we can watch LIVE!

So Tony Chung tweeted that we can watch and said where to look did you put up that info Yes, he's talking about CCTV-5 - it's the link that dose posted yesterday. Dose's link has an additional link to CCTV-5 that will take you here: cctv5.cntv.cn/We used this channel successfully last year. It was a challenge, but we eventually got it. We needed to download a special player in order to make it work. I'll see if I can look back on last year's chat threads to see how it was done.

Thanks for the links, dose! Maybe we'll be able to Git-R-Done! The easiest way to get CCTV-5 is to download the TVU player that Tony mentioned. I still had it on my computer from last year, but I re-downloaded it so I could help y'all with the process. Here's the link for the download: download.cnet.com/TVUPlayer/3000-13632_4-10584888.htmlI clicked 'Run' whenever I had the choice, but other than that, it's a pretty self-explanatory process. When the player loads, click the Chinese options (a drop-down menu in the upper left). You'll see CCTV-5 among the choices down the left side. My security software popped up several times during the process, assuring me that the download was Safe! ;D I seem to remember that one time, we were able to get some racing from the Korean channels - and the ISU Facebook site says that there will be some coverage in both Korea (SBS) and Canada (CBC). www.facebook.com/pages/Short-Track-Speedskating/71860307108#!/ISUShortTrackSpeedSkating There's no guarantee that we'll be able to see it, and we may have to play around with it a bit, but it's our best shot - let's keep our fingers crossed!

You have to download the TVU player - see my post upthread. Did you do that, justsayin?
Lana qualified! But Aly was a close third - she could still qualify if her time is fast enough!
I'm also listening to Tony's audio, but it's about a lap behind the video...
