Oh, WOW... During the last break, I looked at the ISU Entry Regs for World Championships and noted that only the Top 8 teams in the World Cup overall rankings can compete in the relay at World Championships. There are some ‘exceptions’ for the teams with the 3 fastest times during the season, but I couldn’t tell if we qualify for that exception (I just took a quick look) Our USA men are ‘on the bubble’ right now - after the first 5 World Cups, they’re ranked 8th.LET’S CHEER EXTRA LOUD FOR THEM - WE NEED A GOOD SHOWING HERE THIS WEEKEND!

BAM!!! 'Way to 'Git-'er-Done', fella's!!! Unless I'm way off-base, I think that our advancement to tomorrow's Semifinals guarantees that we're among the Top 8 relay teams!Oops, nevermind - in Heat 4, at least one team will advance that could unseat us in the #8 spot!

Well, it appears that our guys will have to finish ahead of Germany in points for the relay in Dordrecht in order to be where we want to be for World Championships!
If anybody sees a flaw in my calculations, please correct me...

We're done with racing for the day - I'm off to get caught up with my 'other' life. Repechages start at about the same time tomorrow as the Prelims did today - use the same ISU link for coverage. The video broadcast will start tomorrow when the Medal Rounds begin. Bye!

Hello! Glad to see Team USA doing so well. Really hope the U.S. men will be able to do the relays at Worlds! They haven't been doing so well in the past World Cups.

A friend sent me the following link on FB - I'm so sorry that I didn't see it 'till racing was over (when there's blinkage, I 'don't get out much', haha!) From ISU: Send your message of support to your favorite skaters by sending a Tweet with @wcshorttrack or #wcshorttrack and it will appear on the screen in the arena! Here's the link: twitter.com/#!/wcshorttrack What a cool idea - one of our USA skaters has already Tweeted that they're seeing the messages! I've seen 3 comments from our USA skaters that says Dordrecht is putting on an AWESOME World Cup - good show, Netherlands!

Just a 'heads up': Tony is unable to do the simulcast with ISU's broadcast this weekend... but he WILL be doing an audio commentary/chat. He says he's testing the audio stream, and he'll be posting the link soon. I may be 'hitting the hay' early tonight so that I can be up for the Repechages (I'm on PST time, so it'll be about 2:45am for me) - so if I crash before he publishes it, would someone be kind enough to post it here? Thanks!

We have only 2 USA skaters in tomorrow's Repechage Rounds: 1000M(1) - Jessica Smith; Travis Jayner We don't have any skaters in the 1500M Rep's... I love my sleep, but since the creation of BB, I don't think I've ever intentionally missed a Rep Round if we have skaters in it - so I'll be here! 5:45am EST; 2:45am PST www.sportresult.com/federations/ISU/ShortTrack/?evt=11212100000009
