This thread is totally devoted to Lezleigh Jaworski, and is intended to be an archive of her skating career - as well as a place to chat about her accomplishments and encourage her as she pursues her goals both on and off the ice.
If you have any articles, photos, links and news about Lezleigh (past or present), we'd love to see them!
Some of the info gathered here will be used for Lezleigh's bio page on Rocker-U. (see www.rocker-u.net/index_of_skaters.htm ).If you are a non-member who would like to contribute news, photos, archives or comments, please feel free to contact us at:lori@rocker-u.net or michelle@therockerfund.org

Lezleigh Jaworski with Tina Koenig and Amy Peterson. Notice how all the ladies are *ahem* holding their hands or other items in front of them. They do drug testing right after the winners finish the race. (As those of you who were part of the 'pee police' can attest to) Unfortunately, the skaters couldn't unload their 'tests' (giggle) before the awards ceremony, and they're not allowed to let anyone else touch them until they're handed over to 'the authorities' - hence, the awkward award photo. (...they might have been able to convince us it was a small glass of lemonade...)

Just thought I'd share a picture from when Lezleigh first started skating. She's about 11 here. Photo credit goes to Jerry Search. and having some fun playing tea party on the ice:

I received this lovely note from Lezleigh to all the fans who have supported her, and I am posting it here on her thread for all of you. Bonne Chance Lezleigh on all your future endeavors I have officially retired from skating. I can't say whether or not it's forever. I have recently moved to Phoenix and am attending the university of Phoenix. I am ready to start the next chapter of my life and am excited to see what the future holds. Maybe in time I will miss my past life as a speed skater and return. I am having fun being normal and not having to workout all day long...lol...I am however training for 5k's and 10's and doing random races. I will always be a competitor no matter what I am doing, its hard to get rid of that.
I want to say thank you so much to the people who support the athletes of the Rockerfund. Having your support has made all the difference in my skating career. It truly is amazing to have fans that will go out of their way to make sure you have what you need to be the best at your sport. Not only do you support the athletes on World teams and Olympic teams, but you help support the ones working and striving to be one of those athletes. Hopefully one day thanks to your help and support the dreams of those skaters will come true. I cant even put into words what your letters and contributions to my skating have meant to me. You have opened your hearts and showed us that you value what we do. You honor us by just believing in our abilities to accomplish our dreams. I am forever grateful for all you have done. Thanks again for loving the sport that I love.
~Lezleigh
