USA Ladies are in the A Final Round - they get to rest during the Repechages!
EDIT: I forgot - we still have the Relays (for double points)!
For the men, watch Lane 4 (Jeff Simon) and Lane 8 (Kyle Carr)

I think USA will have to come in 1st AND 2nd in order to overtake China for the lead...

China gets 1st and 2nd - so USA men will have to go through the Repechage round against Japan, Canada and Turkey - the top 2 in the Rep Round will advance to tomorrow's A Final round.
EDIT: We still have the relays to race!

Current standings after 3 distances:
LADIES
1st: USA (33)
2nd: Canada (32)
3rd: Italy (20)
4th: Poland (12)
We MUST finish ahead of Canada in the relay to avoid the Rep Round.
MEN
1st: China (37)
2nd: USA (26)
3rd: Japan (23)
4th: Poland (11)
Looking at the current points, the men have no chance of catching China, even if they get a PEN (the most we can earn is 10 in the relay) - and there's no way that Poland can catch us, so it looks like the Rep Round for the men.

Oh, wait - I'm all confused now... why were there only 2 sets of lap times? And which teams were they?
Looks like Canada won the relay, USA second - so we'll (apparently) be in the Rep Round.

The Repechage Round is scheduled to start at 12 noon Eastern, 9am Pacific - so I'm gonna go walk the husband, pet the dogs (or is it the other way around - I can never remember)!  Back later! |
