A Remarkable Accomplishment! Bosnian skater Edin Brankovic has recently been training with Wilma Boomstra in SoCal, and competed at American Cup 1 in Milwaukee, Oct 2-3, 2010. Edin has competed for Bosnia-Herzegovina at several World Cups - but because AmCup1 rules state that skaters in the top group must be elegible to skate for the USA in the Fall World Cups, Edin had to compete in Group 2. He won every one of his races easily, but something quite interesting came to my attention when reading the online newsletter from SoCal Speedskating Association this week: In the AmCup top group races, the best time posted in the men's 1500M was 2:26.201 by Travis Jayner in the Quarterfinals. However, in the Group 2 Final, Edin posted a time of 2:22.945 - nearly 4 seconds faster than Travis' time!Quite remarkable - congratulations, Edin! 2010 American Cup 1, Group 2 - Milwaukee; Photo Credit - Jerry SearchTags: Edin Brankovic / Short Track Speedskating
