Day 1 of World Cup 6 is over - things have been really busy around my house with a newborn, so it completely slipped my mind that it had begun! I wasn't sure who the entries would be for this WC, with the University Games in Spain going on at the same time. In checking the entry list, Ryan Pivirotto is the only USA entry - no ladies at all. I knew Cole Krueger was in Turkey, but he got the flu, leaving only Ryan to skate. Ryan skated in the Prelims of the 1000M(1) and the 500M. He will be in the Day 2 Repechages for the 1000M, but he advanced to the Quarterfinals in the 500M! GO RYAN! Unfortunately the Chinese team's several players lost luggages by the airline. The all equipments are in the luggages. Two players found luggages in the day before yesterday, the other two players' luggages have not been found yet. These days didn't train on the ice rink, and they borrowed the other people'sracing suits and skating shoes to participate in the competitions, so the results are not very good.

Wow - I hope they've gotten their luggage back by now!

Yup, Ryan IS sick too! He did give it a great try in the 500M Semifinals on the final day, but ended up 3rd and did not advance - and thus ends this World Cup for the USA. Thank you, Ryan, for 'representing' - and we hope that both you and Cole are feeling better soon!
