I was hearing banter around the rink that we will see some changes and/or additions to the USA lineup for World Cups 5 & 6.

World Cup 4 starts overnight TONIGHT (Thursday) for those of us in the USA! The ISU site is current now with the Dresden schedule and heat lineups at the following link: www.sportresult.com/federations/ISU/ShortTrack/?evt=11213100000016This same link will be the only source for live results (lap-by-lap data only) from the Day 1 Preliminaries and Sat/Sun morning Repechage rounds. Look for the LIVE button in the menu when they are actively competing. ----- Time Conversion: DRESDEN IS 6 HOURS AHEAD OF EASTERN TIME, 9 HOURS AHEAD OF PACIFIC TIME! So based on the listed start times and the time conversions, the Day 1 Prelims should start TONIGHT (Thursday) at 11:50pm for Pacific Time, 2:50am (Friday morning) Eastern Time. I have a bad track record for screwing up the time conversions , so you might want to double-check me on the following link: www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html------ For Day 2 & 3 medal rounds, there are 2 options for live video feed: Option 1: ISU Skating Channel (FREE, but generally blocked in the USA) livemanager.eurovision.edgesuite.net/isu/index.htmlOption 2: Ice Network (by subscription only, but you get all major international competitions for both Short Track and Long Track) web.icenetwork.com/schedule/----- This thread is open to both members and unregistered guests, but I probably will be here very little - we just had a new baby granddaughter born today, and we're babysitting 2-year-old 'big brother' until Saturday. I don't think it would be wise for me to stay up all night watching short track!

As I mentioned upthread, I was hearing that there may be some additions to the team, and yes - our 6th-place male/female skaters will be in Dresden (Casey Mullarkey and Kristen Santos). CONGRATULATIONS to those two on their very first World Cups!!! I'm not sure why Tamara Frederick isn't there for the Ladies... ( )

No medals for the USA in this World Cup, but Jessica Smith 'just' missed the podium, finishing 4th in the 1500M(2). John-Henry Krueger made it into the A Final of the 1500M(2), finishing 5th. A personal source of pride is that Casey Mullarkey made it into the Quarterfinals and was the top USA finisher (19th) in the Mens 500M - he's one of my 'kids' from Casa de Short Track (lived with us in Summer 2010), and this was his first World Cup!
