'Looks like all of the guys who have ever previously skated in World Cups made the cut - a little surprised to see that a couple of our recent Junior Team members missed out. And I just realized that Thomas Hong wasn't entered(?) Happy to see Ryan Pivirotto among the bunch - he was impressive at Age Group Championships in March.

4-Lap Time Trials should be underway now.
Here's a short 'primer' about the Time Trials (I welcome corrections if I'm wrong):
1) Top 16 in the 9-Lap Time Trials advance in the competition, and have a chance to make the Fall World Cup team. There were only 14 Ladies competing, so all of them advance. The men who did NOT advance will skate in the Desert Classic Competition, which (in this instance) runs concurrently with STSDC and takes the place of the traditional 'Group 2' competition for those who don't make the Top 16.
2) The 9-Lap and 4-Lap Time Trials DO give points to the skaters. They only get half the points they will get in the individual distances - the Time Trials are also used for seeding purposes in the individual distances.
3) The points earned in the 9LTT are ADDED TO the points earned in the 1500M and 1000M individual distances for purposes of determining those distance rankings.
4) The points earned in the 4LTT are ADDED TO the points earned in the 500M individual distance for purposes of determining those distance rankings.

The IceNetwork broadcast starts at 15:55 (3:55pm Mountain Time).
They are skating the 1500M(1) and (2) today, with awards scheduled for 19:54 (7:54pm Mountain Time).
I'll be at the ballfield during much of the broadcast (we play our semifinal game tonight at 7:30 Central Time), but I'm hoping to peek in from time to time on my IPad - the internet is pretty good there (better than at the hotel, haha).

It wasn't readily apparent how to connect to the Live Feed, but USS has posted the info you need (thanks to Paul Perry for the heads-up): 1) Go to www.icenetwork.com - the USS website shows the webcast starting at 3:55pm Mountain Time (in about a half hour). This should give everyone time to get it set up before racing starts. 2) Click on the Speedskating Freeview image 3) It will take you to the feed.

The broadcast is on, and it's working - be aware that I think you have to register before you can see it. Somewhere on the site, it says "Free to registered users". Here's the exact link I'm looking at for the video: web.icenetwork.com/video/v29944273
