I have voluntarily converted the forum over to the new format on the very first day that it became available - conversion will be mandatory in the months to come, so it was gonna happen sooner or later.
I really love many (if not most) of the changes - but like you, I'm 'learning'... I have a list of questions, and I'm asking ProBoards about them, a few at a time. My experience thus far is that most of what I 'miss' about the old version is still there, if you know where to look - and everything I've asked about that is NOT there now is 'coming soon'.
The Proboards support staff is INCREDIBLE. I've never gone more than a couple of hours without a thorough answer to any questions I've had. I can't say enough good things about the people at Proboards - in my entire life I've NEVER been so enamoured of a customer service network!
Also, they have a separate board devoted to 'Feature Requests'. They understand that this rollout will demand further work - they're listening to us, and in the months to come there will be many additions and tweaks!
So... if there are things that you are scratching your head about (or cussing about), post them here and I'll try to get an answer for ya!

sailboater - This is what I'm hearing from ProBoards about your question: On your profile (or any member's profile) you click "View this member's recent posts" - it is no longer limited to just "X" posts like version 4. You can actually see every post you ever made, nicely paginated. Are you seeing this? mtnme - Another member privately asked this same question. What I understand is that over time, you WILL be defaulting to the most recent page. I'm seeing that some of the recently updated threads are doing just that - whereas threads that haven't been updated since the switchover are still defaulting to Page 1.

What happened to all the 'fun' emoties? *Place shrugging emotie here* And where's the preview mode? Am I missing where it is or did proboards make it go bye-bye? (...this coming from someone who has to see a preview and re-read it before I post - usually several times...) Admit it! You all do it! LOL EDIT: I think I found it. hit the 'Visual' button on the left bottom corner...although it's not quite accurate to the actual posted item. I do find the addition of the 'Edit Reason' box highly amusing though. I'm editing it because of: A) a plethora of misspelled words B) I was tipsy, b*tchy, uninformed, and/or had my head up my hind quarters when I posted this and now regret it... C) It looked sloppy and hard to read so I added some spaces (I'm super guilty of this) D) I forgot the link I was going to post E) grammar and syntax were atrocious and therefor the post was hard to understand F) I thought of a really good smart a$$ remark after the fact... G) I needed an emotie H) My photo didn't post right I) None of the above... Yeah, a simple post from me may look simple, but I've usually edited it a few times. And now you're thinking 'Gee, obsessive much?' and this emotie isn't anywhere near as fun or gets the point across as well as this emotie Hey,just sayin' =)

Haha, mtnme, you're so funny! And yes, I've edited posts for ALL of those reasons - as a matter of fact, I remember one post I made where you sent me a PM asking, "How many times did you edit that puppy?" ...and I'll add one more: J) Somebody's a) already p!$$ed at me, or b) bound to get p!$$ed at me if I leave it as is... Actually, one of my priorities after the switchover was to find the 'hack' that removes Last Edit info - DONE! To answer your question, adding custom smilies is one of the most popular ProBoards 'hacks', so I'll be doing that soon. It's not that difficult, but it IS time-consuming - and with this being a World Cup weekend, the event will take priority. Not to mention, I'm still waaaaaay behind in posting US Championships results on the skaters' individual threads...

Before anyone asks, I'm required to have a default avatar ('NO Avatar' is not an option). Right now most of you are seeing ProBoard's default avatar whenever you post (that androgynous bald-headed person), but at some point I'll change that to something more appealing. Of course, you are always welcome to make your own custom avatar, as Mtnme and I have done - and we'll be happy to help you figure out how to do it!
