Happy Birthday, Anthony. Have a GREAT day, and may this be your best year ever! I've been saving this cool sideways photo for the Birthday Boy. This photographer took some very interesting shots that were different from the usual fare. I enjoyed them immensely. Younger days...I don't know when or where this is from, but it looks like Anthony just got off the ice after a race.

Younger days...I don't know when or where this is from, but it looks like Anthony just got off the ice after a race. It's actually from an exhibition race in Lake Placid, NY that Team USA had against Team Canada the week or so before everyone left for Turin (end of January '06 or something). :]

A nice video and story about Anthony from Nike's Sarina Morales. (Sarina also did the video about Ryan Bedford that was posted last week.) Hey I Can Do That By Sarina Morales / 17 December 2009 / 12:00 AM I can’t even imagine how U.S. short track speed skater; Anthony Lobello felt when he watched an athlete he knew, compete at the 2000 Salt Lake City winter games.
At the time, Anthony was still rocking inline skates in sunny Florida. However, like many top athletes, his time to shine came when his competitiveness took over and he realized that he wasn’t challenging himself enough. His reasoning being, if he knew a guy that was competing as a winter games athlete, then so could he. Hence, he left Tallahassee; dropped inline skating, his sport since seven years old, and headed to Salt Lake City to pick up speed on the ice...Watch the video and read the complete article at: inside.nike.com/blogs/nikewomen-en_US/2009/12/17/hey-i-can-do-that
