Yeah, Chris!!!! Chris has also just put his new website online: www.chriscreveling.com Check it out! Winter Olympics in focus for Kintnersville native, Palisades gradBy Todd Thorpe Staff writer / phillyburbs.com / August 18, 2013 Creveling competed in the 2010 Olympic Trials in Marquette, Mich., where he also attended Northern Michigan University. It was an educational experience, as he finished 13th, but he knew that to take it to the next level, he’d have to train full-time with the national team.
“My education was important to me,” Creveling said. “But I knew I needed to move (to Salt Lake City), to be with the fastest guys in order to qualify for the Olympics.”
The move has had the desired outcome.
Creveling took second at the national championships earlier this year. He is the U.S. record-holder in the 1,000-meter and, according to usspeedskating.org, is currently the No. 1-ranked U.S. skater.Read it all: www.phillyburbs.com/00redesign/news/communities/palisades/winter-olympics-in-creveling-s-focus/article_4ea44d8a-8db2-5b81-b6c6-e64b29598373.html

Here's a Q&A with Chris Creveling from NBC Olympics. Chris Creveling describes short track chaos
Chris Creveling is an American short track skater who hasn't skated in an Olympics yet. He made the transition from in line skating, where he was a world champion. Creveling originally started skating long track but switched to short track, which he realized was better-suited for him. Creveling was a part of the U.S. men's relay team that finished first in the 2014 overall World Cup standings for the first time in history.www.nbcolympics.com/news/chris-creveling-describes-short-track-chaos

Awwww... I do NOT consider myself a cat person, but there's one out there in the Mists of Time that - like Lieutenant - made an impression on me that I'll never forget. He was a ragged old Tom Cat - ugliest thing I'd ever seen. I really loathed that cat, and the cat knew it. I hissed him off the property every time I saw him. One day I was out tanning in a brand-new blue & white striped 2-piece and I heard a commotion on the other side of the yard. I ran to find a life-and-death struggle between our pit bull and that dang Tom Cat. The dog had the cat in its jaws - the cat had our dog's ear in its teeth and throat in its claws. I literally had to pry the dog's jaws open, blood flying everywhere. I managed to free the cat, and darned if the dog didn't catch him again right before he made it over the fence. Repeat the above (sigh). The cat finally got away for good and I was sure he'd never survive. I did feel bad for the cat, but I was also hoppin' made about my injured dog, not to mention my ruined swimsuit! Several months later I was sitting in a folding chair with neighbors watching our kids play - and that battle-scarred old cat walked right up to me, purring, and started rubbing on my leg. As soon as I put my dropped jaw back into my head, I reached down to scratch him and he jumped into my lap! Everybody knew that cat well, and he was NEVER friendly - they were as surprised as I was! We saw him often after that, but he never approached us again... (BTW, he outlived the dog) Meet Chris Creveling: Winter Games Athlete and Cat FanFebruary, 2014 Chris still remembers the first cat he met at the start of the road to the Olympics, and honored Lieutenant last year near Chris’ first skating rink. "When Lieutenant passed away about a year ago, we put up a marker for his burial spot, right by the rink where I lived. Everybody missed him and mourned him.”www.catchannel.com/news/winter-olympics-cat-fan-chris-creveling.aspxTAGS: Chris Creveling / Short Track Speedskating

Olympic silver medalist meets President Obama, inspires others since Sochi It has been one year since Chris Creveling joined a pretty exclusive club by winning a silver medal in speedskating at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
And what a year it's been &mash; in that time he has met President Barrack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, had a fitness center at Palisades (Pa.) High School named after him, competed at world championships, started an online fitness coaching business, gone on an Olympic media tour, spoken to numerous school groups, given time to coach younger athletes and solidified friendships with U.S. Olympians in his sport and others. Gold medal snowboarder Shaun White, he admitted, was a "childhood hero."
Creveling never stopped working out, he did take a break from Olympic-competition training levels. That will change soon, he hopes to compete again in 2018 in Korea, where speedskating is a highly popular sport. The training includes bicycling, weight-lifting and running, in addition to skating.
