More on Travis: Cool Olympics photo from Roaring Lion Energy Drink's Facebook page: www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=106588&id=128858794217#!/photo.php?fbid=10150108985279218&set=a.133063544217.106588.128858794217&theater ... and the caption is even cooler - it says that Travis is the only skater (assuming this is in the WORLD) who has medaled this season in every distance! Jayner helps U.S. claim bronze medal Riverview native and team finish third at world short-track speed skating championships Times & Transcript Staff / March 14th, 2011 Wenhao Liang of China, Charles Hamelin of Canada and Riverview native Travis Jayner, skating for the United States, race in the men's 1,000 metres during the ISU world short-track speed skating championships yesterday in Sheffield, England. (Photo Credit: Getty Images)SHEFFIELD, England - Riverview native Travis Jayner helped the United States claim a bronze medal in the men's 5,000 metre relay at the world short-track speed skating championship yesterday. Jayner and American teammates Jeff Simon, Anthony Lobello, Simon Cho and Kyle Carr finished third in the relay behind Canada and Germany. Read More: timestranscript.canadaeast.com/sports/article/1388538Tags: Travis Jayner / Short Track Speedskating +++ Brothers Charles and Francois Hamelin of Ste-Julie, Que., Michael Gilday of Yellowknife and Olivier Jean of Lachenaie, Que., captured gold for Canada in a time of six minutes 52.731. Germany was second in 6:54.693, while the Americans took the bronze in 7:01.659. Korea was penalized and disqualified for interferring with the U.S. team when it was in second place with 15 of 45 laps remaining in the race. The bronze gave Jayner, a dual Canadian-American citizen, three medals at the world championships in his career. He captured silver in the relay last year and bronze in 2007. Jayner finished second in his 1,000 metre heat yesterday, but was third in a quarter-final and did not advance further in the distance. Jayner came in second in his 500 metre quarter-final on Saturday, but was given a penalty for contact with a passing skater and did not advance to the semifinals. He was first in his heat. In Friday's 1,500 metre event, Jayner placed second in his preliminary heat to advance to the quarter-final. At the start of the quarter-final, the skate of an adjacent racer struck Jayner's blade and stripped away the sharpened edge, so the blade would not grip the ice. He finished sixth and did not advance. Jayner, who won a bronze medal in the relay at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, enjoyed a career season on the World Cup circuit. He won nine medals - six individually and three in the relay - and finished seventh overall among men, including a third-place ranking in the 1,000 metres. He finished 12th overall at the world championships on the weekend. "The weekend was full of challenges and it doesn't reflect the improvements I've made this year," Jayner said. The short track season wraps up with the world team championships in Warsaw, Poland, March 19-20. Also yesterday, Charles Hamelin added a silver in the men's 1,000 metres for Canada, while the Canadian women - Marie-Eve Drolet of Laterriere, Que., Jessica Hewitt of Kamloops, B.C., Valerie Maltais of La Baie, Que., and Marianne St-Gelais of St-Felicien, Que. - added a bronze in their relay. Hamelin finished in 1:28.663 in the 1,000 metres, which was won by South Korea's Noh Jinkyu in 1:28.552. The Canadian women's relay team recorded a time of 4:18.043. China won the gold in 4:16.295, while the Netherlands was second in 4:17.725. Jean won a silver medal in the 500 metre final in a time of 42.429 on Saturday. American Simon Cho won the race in 42.307. Charles Hamelin won a silver medal in the 1,500 metres on Friday. Korean Noh Jinkyu won the race in 2:18.291 and Hamelin crossed second in 2:18.676.[/img]

There are quotes from Travis Jayner, J.R. Celski, and Katherine Reutter in this article: What's It Like To Win Olympic Medals? Meet the speed skating Olympians in Chesterfield this weekend. By Jean Whitney / Sept 30, 2011 Travis Jayner, 29: "We always want to steadily improve. You always want to get better. Coming off the games, it's such a high of lifelong goals, how do you refocus? I try to focus my attention on my individual efforts. You have to keep pushing. You can't let your guard down." He won a bronze medal 5000m Relay at the 2010 Olympics.Read More: chesterfield.patch.com/articles/whats-it-like-to-win-olympic-medals

Travis competed at AmCup 1 in St. Louis (Oct 1-2).
He got his 'bell rung' pretty badly in the 1000M B Final on Day 2, and as a result, did not start in the 1500M Super Final. However, he had already done enought to finish 6th overall, and he will be a discretionary pick for World Cups 3 & 4.
Here are his results:
6th Overall 1500M - 4th (4th/A Final) 500M - 4th (4th/A Final) 1000M - 8th (4th/B Final) 1500M Super Final - 12th(tie) (Did Not Start/Semifinal)
