I do hope they are taking concussions seriously. I fell off a ladder in October and spent 4 days in intensive care for 3 bleeds in the old brain. I'm still only able to work part-time and doctors tell me its a very slow healing process. Too many people brush this off, especially if you have a helmet and are afflicted with Denial Syndrome! My husband is trying to make me give up skating AND sell my Miata! Thanks for all the results.....I see "Viktor" Ah pulled in a gold. How exciting to see J.R. going up against the historial best~

I've seen numerous times that they've pulled a skater from the competition if there's any hint of a concussion. As a matter of fact, Olivier Jean sat out the weekend because of a possible concussion in Friday's prelims. I hope you're back to normal - and skating again - soon!

Thanks Lori We're retiring next year and moving back to Oregon. For us that means a lot of camping and hiking and exploring the West. Don't want to endanger that at the 11th hour so we'll see. What I learned is that this is a serious problem in sports where there are repeated concussions, especially with younger people. You don't need to lose consciousness. The problems may not show up until later in life. SusanG

@susan - I just posted an article stating that Olivier Jean will not be competing this weekend in Shanghai due to his concussion-like symptoms from his fall in Nagoya...
