So excited to hear about this competition unfortunately our brand new laptop will be going to Toshiba as it is under warranty and having major issues hopefully I can still stay current on ST while our computer gets fixed. On a positive note I am so happy that JR Celski is able to compete and that his ankle has healed.

Here's the newest info that I know about World Cup 5 - it's also in the Original Post so that you can refer to it later. NOTE: The ISU SKATING CHANNEL BROADCAST and Tony's simulcast are only for Day 2 & Day 3 Medal Rounds - use ISU's DATA FEED link, i.e., 'the blinking numbers' for Day 1 (qualifying rounds) and for all Repechage Rounds!ISU plans to broadcast the event (live video feed) at the following link: livemanager.eurovision.edgesuite.net/isu/site/index.htmlIt will not be available in Canada, China Japan and Korea, but all is not lost! Tony Chung, as he has done in the past, will be doing a simulcast with the ISU broadcast. If it works out like his other broadcasts, you should be able to see it via his Ustream Channel. He'll also probably have his chat available on the same link. When the link is available, Tony will post it on either his Twitter or Facebook (and I'll also post it here): twitter.com/shorttrackhdwww.facebook.com/home.php#!/shorttrackhd The heat lineups, official start times, LIVE data feed, and official results can be found at: www.sportresult.com/federations/ISU/ShortTrack/ISU will probably post the schedule, start times, and heat lineups at the above sportresult.com link sometime on Thursday. Moscow is 9 hours ahead of Eastern Time; 12 hours ahead of Pacific. I'll be on Tony's chat - I gave it a try during Jr. US Championships last week, and it was a lot of fun. (I'm LoriRockerU, if you're following it). I'll be multitasking here as well, and I'll post updates with results and anything interesting that I see or hear, for the benefit of those who can't join us live! If you have any questions during the competition, please post them here, and I'll try to find out the answer!

I was listening to the World News broadcast on NPR this evening. Evidently, besides the incredibly cold weather in Moscow, there are anti government demonstrations scheduled for Saturday in Moscow. There was some dustup today with an anti Putin banner that was hung in Red Square.
Hopefully the skaters will stay clear of the Square in their off time this weekend.

Ahn Hyun-Soo will participate 5000m relay before I read the news. But now the Russia players name of ISU WC5 haven't 'Viktor'. Odd.

Ahn Hyun-Soo will participate 5000m relay before I read the news. But now the Russia players name of ISU WC5 haven't 'Viktor'. Odd. Hmmm, you're right, dose - no Ahn, Viktor, or anything close to that in the Russian lineup. They keep teasing us! I think that Jordan also posted something saying that Ahn was there. There were also some pics of him warming up with the team, and I presumed they were from the World Cup. Justsayin' - I hadn't heard about the unrest in Moscow. I've seen some pics posted of the skaters in Red Square, so I guess they were able to avoid any trouble! The heat lineups and times are now posted on ISU's site (you'll also see the link to the ISU Skating Channel broadcast in the menu bar): www.sportresult.com/federations/ISU/ShortTrack/?evt=11212100000005Day 1 of racing will take place overnight TONIGHT (Thursday): 1:50am (Friday morning) Eastern 12:50am (Friday morning) Central 11:50pm Mountain 10:50pm Pacific The final event should end at about 9:30am (Friday) EST; 6:30am PST.

JUST A REMINDER (and I need to clarify this in my posts above):
The ISU SKATING CHANNEL BROADCAST and Tony's simulcast are only for Day 2 & Day 3 quarterfinals and finals - We'll only have the DATA FEED for tonight's racing and for Saturday & Sunday's repechage rounds!

No video 'till tomorrow night (or specifically, 'till Saturday morning for USA. I'll be here tonight, if I can stay awake (after a good Power Nap this evening)!
