For those who are planning to attend the event, pertinent information gathered here - as it becomes available - will be summarized IN THIS ORIGINAL POST (scroll down) for quick-reference.

KNOWN INFO:

ISU WILL be broadcasting Day 2 & 3 action from Shanghai on their video channel at the link below: Looks like it'll start for us in the USA at about 12 midnight EST, 9pm PST on Friday:

They will not be broadcasting the Day 1 preliminary rounds, nor the Repechage rounds - only the Day 2 & 3 medal rounds. It will most likely NOT be available in Canada, Japan, Korea and China

When there is no Live Stream, we'll be following ISU's infamous 'blinking numbers’ (a live data feed), which has been our back-up for many years. When they’re actively racing, you’ll see a red, clickable “LIVE” button in the menu bar at the following link:

Last week I didn't realize that Tony Chung was also providing a chat and his own personal commentary during the ISU's feed - he's going to try to do it again this weekend. If so, you'll find it at the following link:

I'm looking forward to the Shanghai WC4 very much! The events will be held in the new Oriental Sports Center gymnasium. Just read the news, Shanghai will usher the Short Track Speed Skating World Championships on March of next year. Organizing Committee said, the Shanghai World Cup is preview for World Championships of next year, thus competitions' all aspects of hardware and software will reach World Championships level, and Strive to accomplish the most outstanding a World Cup since the events into China 14 years. As of yesterday, 10 and 11 the two days of competition tickets have already total sold more than 20,000 (about 26000 sheets). In addition, In order to improve spectator enjoyment, the competitions will use the way of sport show to regulate on-site atmosphere.
It looks should be very lively. Do not know is true? Hope not lower than my expectation. I also want to go to Shanghai.

Are you going to the World Cup, dose? Or maybe to the World Championships? Some mentioned that the crowd seemed small in Japan - it will be nice to see the seats filled in Shanghai!

I've just posted everything I currently know about World Cup 4 - for us in the USA, action will start TOMORROW EVENING (Thursday). If you hear or see any other info that would be of interest to us, please post it, and I'll add it to the OP.

The detailed schedule and heat lineups will be up within the next 24 hours - I'll update when I see it.

I didn't realize that Tony Chung also hosted a chat and live commentary during the ISU feed last week - he plans to do it again this week (see the link in the OP).

I'll be multi-tasking and following along with his feed as well this weekend - I'll post anything interesting that I see or hear for the benefit of those who can't join us (or him) live, because it's not possible to 'catch up' on Tony's feed after the event is over (or if you have to leave to pay the pizza guy)...

I heard the ice is very good, it is the fast ice rink, athletes should can make good results. I think if athletes fight enough, break the world record is not a problem.

According to .my calculation Shanghai is 8hrs ahead of UK gmt time - so the action will start at 1am Friday mornin and finish by 9am!!

I figure ill be able to catch some finals on Saturday.and Sunday morning if i manage to get I disagree outta bed lol!

Ohhhh - TRF, how does it get more horrible than that for timing? I guess sometimes it pays to be FURTHER away - at least we have a few hours of action that's at a reasonable time!

Funny, I knew what you meant when you said "If I can manage to get I disagree out of bed"... the site's censor filter translates 'my ass' to 'I disagree'.
