Jeff represented Team USA at the World Championships in Debrecen, Hungary (March 8-10, 2013). He did not skate in individual events at this competition, but he did skate in the Relay Semifinals, where the team finished 4th and did not advance.
See some of Lily’s photos of Jeff from the competition (in the post above mine). Thanks, Lily!

Some terrible news about Jeff Simon. Tony Chung just announced on Twitter that Jeff broke his ankle during a training session yesterday and he'll be out for 8-10 weeks. This means that he won't be able to compete at trials for a spot at the Olympics. Wishing Jeff a speedy recovery and all the best moving forward.

I heard yesterday that something bad had happened to somebody, but I didn't want to pry - it was only today that I found out it was Jeff. I'm sick about this, absolutely devastated for him. We consider Jeff to be 'family' - he lived in our home this summer and he was skating like a man on fire - he was SO ready for Sochi, a favorite to make the team, and a key piece of our #1-ranked Men's relay team. Nevermind the medal prospects - the personal aspect just leaves me hollow beyond words. Jeff has fought through so much adversity, and if anyone in the future ever asks me for an example of "life ain't fair"...

There are no words. Many of us here on B&B considered Jeff "family", we have followed and supported him for so many years. This is just cruel - cruel for any of the skaters - but especially for all of us who know Jeff and the obstacles he has overcome. Looking forward to Trials, but this will be a sad footnote to the whole event.
