Are you away from home (like, in a different time zone)? If so, your BB clock would still be showing your home time zone...

Source: Ryan's site - www.ryanbedford.com/RYAN_BEDFORD/SPECIAL.html- - - - - - September 12th, 2009 All, There's only one word to describe the feeling right now; disappointment. I've dreamed of going to the Olympic Games since I was a little boy. I've worked many long years trying to chase this childhood dream. And tonight I let it slip away. I feel like I have let down my family and friends, my sponsors, and my parents. But most of all, I let myself down. So, I just wanted to say thanks to all my family and friends that have supported me over the years. Everyone back at the Midland Speed Skating Club. Thanks to my coaches Derek Parra and Laurent Daignault for coaching me, and making me stronger than I've ever been before. I want thank my sponsors, Nike and Dow Corning. And I want to thank my parents for sticking with me through the ups and downs. And finally, I want to thank God for blessing me with the talent and heart to compete at the level that I have. As I close the chapter of short track in my life, I will begin my new path towards Vancouver. I will be gearing up for long track trials in October. I am thankful for everyones continued support in the coming months. I promise, I won't let you down this time. I'll keep you posted! Thank you! Ryan Bedford - - - - - - I'm saddened he won't be on the short track anymore, but I know he's going to kick a$$ on the long track. GO BEDFORD! I'll be rooting for you in Vancouver! ;D I'm not disappointed at his performance. He had heart out there - the only problem was so did everyone else. :/

Sorry, I must be missing something. What does the "C" on the hood stand for?

Sorry, I must be missing something. What does the "C" on the hood stand for? It stands for Colbert Nation (Stephen Colbert from The Colbert Report) - USS' new primary sponsor.

Source: inside.nike.com/blogs/nikewomen-en_US/2009/12/10/more-than-a-speedskaterTHE NIKE FIELD REPORTER MORE THAN A SPEEDSKATERBY SARINAMORALES / 10 DECEMBER 2009 / 12:00 AM We’ve all heard of or done the old pie in the face trick or the saran wrap on the toilet prank. But only one of the world’s top speed skaters would be able to figure out how to pants someone in stretchy pants! Not that competing on an international level in long track speed skating isn’t already impressive. But it would truly be an accomplishment if Ryan Bedford figured out how to pants his spandex wearing teammates. Lets be realistic here, there’s just no way to do it when the other guy has his stretchy pants on. Whether or not he can pull the pranks he claims he can with teammate Chad Hedrick, Ryan is amazing simply because after a recent switch from short track to long track speed skating, he is still competing at a level many athletes can’t achieve.. Before even dipping his feet into long track he was the U.S 2005 and 2006 U.S. Junior Short Track Champion. In 2008, he was the Short Track North American Champion and was a world-ranking short track speed skater in the 1500 meters. It wasn’t until 2008 that his named showed up as a Long Track World Cup Team Member, this is the same year he was also on the World Cup Team for Short Track Talk about multitasking. He’s been balancing two sports for just over a year now and I can’t even walk and talk on my phone at the same time. For a guy who loves a good steak after a hard workout, I could understand how his appetite for more competition grew. Why have one when you can have two? From Midland, Michigan to Salt Lake City, Utah, from short track to long track speed skating,Ryan Bedford is all about stepping up his game. One of his best gains is working with long track speed skater champion, Chad Hedrick. He’s not only learning new pranks to pull, but he’s also learning life long lessons from a speed skater that knows a thing or two about long track. I’m curious to see how many tricks Ryan Bedford has up his sleeve going into the 2010 winter games. -Sarina - - - - - - There is a video of a short interview she did with Ryan on the site if you click the source link. It's cute. :]

Nice, BBB! The video is well worth watching - comprehensive, informative, inspiring - good luck to Ryan in your LT Olympic quest. (Sharp eyes will see several ST skaters in the background throughout!) A screencap from the video:

After reading Ryan's heartbreaking disappointment at not making the short track Oly team, I'm so happy to hear he made the long track team! Congrats to Ryan. From a year low to a year high, he must be on cloud nine about now- and deservedly so.
