This thread is totally devoted to Kyle Uyehara, and is intended to be an archive of his skating career - as well as a place to chat about his accomplishments and encourage him as he pursues his goals both on and off the ice.
If you have any articles, photos, links and news about Kyle (past or present), we'd love to see them!

Did y'all know that Kyle was part of a 'conspiracy' in the men's Super 1500 in the 2008 American Cup Final? It was the last competition of the 2007-2008 skating season, and the last race of the weekend. I first heard about this last year when Mtnme posted a John Coyle narrative about it, then I saw it on a friend's DVD. The evidence of this heinous plot is now available for viewing on YouTube courtesy of the guy who caught it all on HD video - Tony Chung. See it for yourselves, and you be the judge... Pretty funny, eh? Kyle's cohorts in this prank were J.R. Celski, Chris Creveling, Barry Winslow, Kyle Carr and Travis Jayner. Tony has plenty of other videos on his YouTube page, as well as DVD's of entire competitions on his website, www.shorttrackHD.com

Great pics and I loved the YouTube link. Many thanks to Jerry Search. His pics are outstanding. I especially love the pic above that shows the cuts in the ice on the turn.

Kyle is a bit shy around fans, but the photos Jerry takes of Kyle really show his personality, and I think I can speak for the majority of us - that we really find him endearing. What a clown! ...and Lori, you left out the best photo. *grin* Kyle and Wilma's kid with their mouths against the glass, LOL. I cracked up!!!

SoCal Speedskating was recently featured on the local news, and the segment contained a brief interview with Kyle: www.nbclosangeles.com/station/as-seen-on/SpeedSkating_Los_Angeles.htmlWith the Winter Olympics fast approaching, our attention is shifting to the snow and ice looking for possible US medal contenders. Well, there's a special place in Southern California where Olympic dreams do come true.
