I'm not sure how this works... but if you scroll down, you'll see that Eddy Alvarez is one of the participants (under 'Facebook and Instagram Takeover). If anyone figures it out, let us know! Team USA's Digital Send-Off For SochiBy U.S. Olympic Committee | Jan. 22, 2014, 1 p.m. (ET) Team USA’s Digital Send-Off for Sochi will take place on Thursday, Jan. 23. Fans are encouraged to share good luck messages using #GoTeamUSA and athletes will be on deck to answer questions and thank fans for their support. Please see the below schedule for ways to interact with athletes throughout the day. Eddy Alvarez is taking over the teamusa Instagram account today and doing a day in the life by posting pictures to the account. It's similar to what Michael Gilday and Valerie Maltais did a little bit ago on their own twitter account (which I posted on their respective boards). You can check out this link for the teamusa Instagram to see all of the pictures Eddy has posted so far and he will be continuing to post them for the rest of the day: instagram.com/teamusa

Awful, just awful. Did they get these at the Mall of America? Not at all what Ralph advertises on Downton Abbey! Our superb great looking athletes deserve better!~

This is not at all unprecedented - it's just common sense. As I recall, our athletes were given this same advice a season ago when there was political unrest in Dresden, GER while they were there for a World Cup. I've heard lots of pundits giving very good reasons why they believe that the athletes, spectators, families and venues will all be safe within the Olympic perimeter - the primary concern is for 'soft targets' (hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, tourist attractions and transportation) outside the secured areas. Which is probably why the athletes are concerned for the safety of their families. State Department warns US athletes not to wear American uniforms in Sochi, WSJ reportsBy Jay Busbee / Yahoo Sports / January 24, 2010 The State Department has warned American athletes not to wear their patriotic-themed uniforms outside of Sochi venues during the Winter Olympics, and it's not out of concern for their fashion sense. Heightened security concerns in Russia mean that the State Department is warning athletes not to wear their Team USA gear outside the so-called "Ring of Steel," the 1,500-square-mile secured area in which the Winter Games will take place.Read it all: sports.yahoo.com/blogs/olympics-fourth-place-medal/state-department-warns-us-athletes-not-to-wear-american-uniforms-in-sochi--wsj-reports-141109680.html

After yesterday's more somber Olympic news, it's time to lighten it up a bit! TEAM USA *Class of 2014* Vote on the Yearbook Superlativeswww.nbcolympics.com/kpnx/yearbookLook for Jessica Smith, Chris Creveling, Eddy Alvarez and J.R. Celski - will you even recognize them? When you do, click on their picture to vote for things such as "Best Dressed", "Most Likely to Succeed", etc. Their individual photo pages also contain a quote, and a link to their Olympic profile page. Enjoy this very fun fan page from NBC Olympics!

Yes, I tried this out earlier this afternoon (it was an offshoot of the 'Better Think Fast' article), and it's a really cool tool! You fill in your zip code and TV service provider - and you can see what channels/times you can watch various events - I love it, and it's definitely a link that everyone should save!
