Yes she does Mari. I guess in this case we should wish her "safe viewing" since she made it okay.

I heard that it happened during the men's warmup, and rivets were falling from the ceiling, causing an emergency evacuation. Everyone's hunkering down at their hotels waiting for word about whether the event will be cancelled, but most are doubting that they can continue in that building. They should know something at about noon EST. What a mess - I'm just glad that everyone is okay.
I suppose that if it's cancelled, there'll be some impromptu Super Bowl parties at the hotels!

Just saw a couple of reports on FB that the roof did ultimately collapse, about an hour ago. Good call on someone's part to cancel the meet.

Prince William Ice Center collapses By Uriah A. Kiser/News & Messenge February 6, 2010 DALE CITY, Va.—The Prince William Ice Center on Dale Boulevard began sagging under the weight of heavy snow Saturday, with skaters inside. The building at 5180 Dale Blvd. is a total loss, owner Bill Hutzler said. Skaters practicing inside had been evacuated before the collapse and no one was injured. “We had some speed skaters on the ice this morning, then a beam on ceiling started to twist and ... we got everybody out,“ said Hutzler, who bought the rink in March 2008. The rink was built in 1996. A hazardous materials team was called to the scene due to high amounts of ammonia in the building, which is used to keep the ice fresh. Hutzler said his business is popular with skaters and ice hockey players and he wants them to know he’ll reopen as soon as he can. “Be patient,“ he said. “We’ll be back soon.“ www2.insidenova.com/isn/news/local/article/firefighters_respond_to_collapse_at_prince_william_ice_center/51829/

This news report of the ice rink collapse was shared by a member of Rocker-U's Facebook fan page (thank you Donald) - there are some chilling pictures of how badly the building was damaged. It's a total loss. I feel badly for the husband and wife who purchased it less than 2 years ago, and wish them well in rebuilding it... I know that Eastern Seaboard'ers were happy to see a major meet take place in the area.

Another contribution from Donald at the RU FB Fanpage. This article contains quotes from Kendal Pumphrey and mom Annette, as well as Kyle Uyehara - the article also says that USS lost $40,000 of equipment that they bring to the various events : Ice rink’s loss ‘crushing’ Skaters are mourning the loss of the Prince William Ice Center on Dale Boulevard. Kipp Hanley / News & Messenger / Feb 8, 2010 DALE CITY, Va.—Kendal Pumphrey heard a loud crash and walked into the locker room at Prince William Ice Center on Saturday to tell her fellow competitors they had to leave the building.
“Instantly, people were screaming and running,” said Kendal, 15.
The center was literally caving in from too much snow, and the short track speed skating competition her family had traveled for from California suddenly became an afterthought.
Kendal’s friend and fellow Californian, Kyle Uyehara, said he also heard a loud crash as he was warming up on the ice. He looked over and saw that a side support beam near the hockey penalty box looked crooked.
“All the skaters just looked at it and were like, ‘Oh, that is not good,’” Uyehara, 20, said.Read the rest of the story at: www2.insidenova.com/isn/news/local/dale_city/article/ice_rinks_loss_crushing/51900/
