I've heard this info from several different sources now, so I'm gonna start a thread. It's not up on the USS site yet, so I'd advise waiting 'till you see it there before making any non-cancellable travel arrangements!
Word is that it will be held concurrently with the Desert Classic - skaters who do not make the Top 16 in the USSDC will skate in the Desert Classic races for the remainder of the weekend (in lieu of a Group B). Feel free to correct me if I have any of this wrong!

Does anyone know the daily schedule for the US Championships?? Hi, aao2010 - I haven't seen a schedule yet, but I'm pretty sure the first day (Thurs the 22nd) will be Time Trials only. I think that there's something in the "ST Rules & Regulations" (on the USS website) that may show which races are run on which days - i.e., Day 1, Day 2, etc. However, the info I'm referring to won't show details of the specific time of day each session will be raced... If anyone gets hold of a detailed schedule, please share!

The schedule can be found on page 20 of the 2013-14 Short Track Rules and Regulations. It is as follows: C) Competition Format: 1. Schedule The 2014 U.S. Single Distance Short Track Speedskating Championships will be held according to the following schedule: Day 1: 9 Lap Time Trial (and re-skates) 4 Lap Time Trial (and re-skates) Day 2: 1500m (1) Qualifying rounds and Finals 1500m (2) Qualifying rounds and Finals Day 3: 500m (1) Qualifying rounds and Finals 500m (2) Qualifying rounds and Finals Day 4: 1000m (1) Qualifying rounds and Finals 1000m (2) Qualifying rounds and Finals 3000m/5000m Relay The section on the event, with more details about scoring and such, starts on p. 18 of the Short Track Rules and Regulations, as Section 4.2. The link to the Rules on the US Speedskating website is: www.usspeedskating.org/sites/default/files/2013-14%20Short%20Track%20Regs_0.pdfHope this helps.

Well, our success at the World Series in North Dakota makes it pretty certain that I will not make it to Salt Lake City for Single Distance Championships. But it's a nice dilemma to have!
I keep hearing that IceNetwork.com will be streaming, but there's nothing on their site to indicate that - I thought they were just streaming Olympic Trials... does anybody know?
I've also asked Tony Chung if he has plans to do anything but I haven't heard back from him.
Any info for those of us who can't make it to SLC would be much appreciated!

Thanks for the info, osaycanusoc! It's gonna be a tough day for the guys in the 9-lap Time Trial to see who get into the Top 16. Those who don't make it will be competing in the Desert Classic, which will run concurrently with USSDC. Because there are only 15 ladies registered, looks like they're all 'in'! I guess streaming coverage starts on Friday, and won't be available for the Time Trials. Hopefully somebody will post the list of qualifiers here! In reading the team selection criteria, does it seem that there will be no discretionary selections for the team? It only mentions some level of coaches' discretion about who skates individual distances, but unless I'm reading it wrong, it looks like results from USSDC will be the only selection criteria(?) usspeedskating.org/sites/default/files/ST%20Rules%20and%20Regs%20v.11.pdfWhenever possible, I'll be following the stream here on this thread - feel free to join in and comment! In the meantime, here's a video that'll get everybody pumped up about the season - from USS:

I think the Time Trials are starting now(?) The schedule at the following link shows a 2pm Mountain Time start time: www.usspeedskating.org/event/us-single-distance-short-track-championshipsLooks like Tony may be Tweeting: twitter.com/shorttrackhdHe also posted pics of the 9LTT pairings The Ladies will all make it to the top 16 (there are only 14 of them). But they are still competing for points and seeding. The men are scheduled to start in less than an hour. If anyone sees results, please post!
