JMO -
I believe in the depth of character of all the team members.
I believe in the level of maturity and intelligence of all the skaters and their ability to properly process what they see and hear.
I believe all Sports ( and basically every human endeavor ) is not without their daily fractious moments from their members.
I believe the Skating community in general is tremendously strong and can withstand " bumps in the road".
I do not believe that any athlete ( or any individual ) can be defined by a single interview, article, activity, photo, blog, sound byte, tweet, etc.
We as fans are privileged to watch these athletes ( who we only see for minutes on the ice and not anywhere approximating the full spectrum of their lives) and I will be there for full support of every person on the ice.

Joyce, thanks for your information about the (lack of) Olympic footage available to the general public.
I have a good chuck of Apolo's Torino skating on tape. I also have an ABC "Wide World of Sports" DVD that purports to have Olympic footage of Nadia Comaneci ("40 Years of Glory"). I haven't looked at it yet, so IDK how accurate that is.
You've given me additional incentive to tape every stinkin' thing in Vancouver.

Wow! What an awesome team! Although I am saddened by the fact that Jeff and Anthony didn’t make the team, I am selfishly loving the fact that there are several young ones that I am certain I will grow to love and idolize when Apolo and Allison are no longer competing. Today I find myself lamenting for the post 2002 - 2006 era of OZ updates with personal stories and the candid shots of Shani and Apolo having a good laugh sitting on the boards waiting for their next heat or those of Apolo and Allison that left us wondering… are they … or are they not dating…hee hee! I personally still want the two to marry and live happily ever after with a house full of future short trackers. Anyway, I plan to savor every twitter, webcast, photo, video… that comes my way before their retirement. If you ladies wouldn’t mind sharing with us all you have on this fab-u-lous site …so that lurkers like me can pop in now and then for an “Apolo fix” before this final chapter comes to a close. A huge thank you to you ladies who continue to document/archive a side of short track that shouldn’t be forgotten.

Welcome, Sarah - it seems that you've been around the ST world for awhile! ;D We will continue to 'document' the careers of Apolo and all of the other national-level skaters - hopefully this site will be a nice 'scrapbook' for them to show their friends and family, and for their fans to enjoy looking back on as well...

My flight out of Marquette on Sunday morning began the exodus from Trials - with weary skaters, coaches, officials, fans, friends and family members at the gate area. Among those traveling back were relatives of JR including his grandmother. Walter Rusk was also there. Each of JR's relatives went over to Walter to extend their thanks and a warm embrace, most meeting him for the first time.
While we are reminded of the great dangers in this sport we love, so too are we reminded of the great moments of humanity it brings.

Has anyone located a scheduled for tomorrow's World Cup? I've checked ISU and USS. Universal Sports shows it on their schedule with times TBA. Am I dreaming? Is Universal Sports really going to throw us a bone this time?

Yeah! Thanks! I was beginning to wonder when it would finally be up ....now anyone up for time conversions? China = ? U.S. I was hoping Universal Sports would broadcast live... but it looks like "On Demand". Now the question is.. do I want to watch blinking numbers or wait for the Demand and pretend it is live.
