Glad you got some pics of JHK - and thanks for your generosity in sharing your photos with us! Lori, you're always welcome for the pics! I just wish I had some of Emily Scott (in Debrecen), but I only saw her once, sitting right below me in the 'skaters bleacher' section.

John-Henry is skating in Olympic Trials this weekend, but here are his results from World Cups 3 & 4 (the two Olympic qualifying competitions). He was a member of the Gold-Medal-Winning Men’s Relay team at World Cup 4 in Kolomna Russia! The team’s overall performance in these World Cups earned the Men the 2013-2014 World Cup Championship in the 5000M Relay, and also qualified the USA to enter a Men's relay team and the full contingent of 3 men in each individual distance at the Sochi Olympics in February! In addition, the Men won the OVERALL World Cup Relay Championship for this season! World Cup 3, Torino Italy (November 7-10, 2013)1500M - SILVER MEDAL Prelims (3rd); Heats (3rd); QF (2nd); SF (2nd); Final A (2nd) 500M – Not Entered 1000M – Not Entered 5000M Relay - John-Henry skated in the Heats and Semifinals - the team finished 1st in the Heats, Quarterfinals and Semifinals - and 5th in the A Final World Cup 4, Kolomna, Russia (November 14-17, 2013)1500M - Prelims (1st); Heats (2nd); QF (2nd); SF (no time)*; Final B (Did Not Start) 500M – Not Entered 1000M – Not Entered 5000M Relay – John-Henry skated in the relay Heats, where the team finished 1st - the team finished 1st in every subsequent round, ultimately winning the GOLD MEDAL*in the SF, JH had a double-dose of ‘unlucky’ in one of the more spectacular crashes we’ve seen in awhile - he fell, but as he recovered and was finishing the race, he became collateral damage in a separate crash between 2 other skaters who careened into him and took him out violently. Thankfully, it only resulted in a few stitches to JH’s chin (as of the last we heard)… Men’s relay Gold Medal ceremony, Kolomna Russia - L to R: Chris Creveling; Eddy Alvarez; J.R. Celski; Jeff Simon; Jordan Malone. John-Henry also received a medal but was not pictured due to the above-mentioned injury.Men’s 1500M medal ceremony - L to R: John-Henry Krueger (Silver - USA); Lee Han-Bin (KOR - Gold); Sjinkie Knegt (NED - Bronze) - Photo Credit: Getty Images

John-Henry skated at Olympic Trials in Salt Lake City (January 2-5, 2014) - a favorite to make the team, he had a rough go of it because he was suffering from swine flu during the competition, and wasn’t even able to compete on Saturday! Even so, he came back to make it into the 1000M(2) A Final on Sunday and finished 10th Overall.
Ultimately, John-Henry didn’t make the Olympic team - but just a few weeks later, he won his 4th Junior US Championship. Join us tonight on the Junior World Championships thread as he and his teammates compete in the Jr. WC’s in Erzurum, Turkey!
Here are his results from Olympic Trials:
10th Overall 9-Lap Time Trial - 4th 4-Lap Time Trial - 4th 1500M(1) – Did Not Finish (Semifinal) 1500M(2) - 1st (C Final) 1500M Overall - 9th 500M(1) - Did Not Start (Quarterfinal) 500M(2) - Did Not Start (Quarterfinal) 500M Overall - 12th 1000M(1) - Penalty (Quarterfinal ) 1000M(2) - 2nd (A Final) 1000M Overall - 4th

John-Henry skated at American Cup 2 in Blaine, MN (January 25-26, 2014) - he finished 1st Overall, WON the 1500M & 1000M, and made the podium in all 4 distances.
This was a competition that would determine who would fill any open slots for World Championships. Those spots were offered to Olympians first, and though JH would have been first in line, all 5 of our Olympians will be attending WC’s, so there were ultimately no available slots to be filled for the men.
1st Overall 1500M - 1st (A Final) 500M - 2nd (A Final) 1000M - 1st (A Final) 3000M Superfinal - 2nd (A Final)
