Jessica participated in this event! I remember hearing about this back when it originally happened, but it showed up in a recent Google Alert, and it's still newsworthy - here's hoping that Mexico's 'ice' dreams have progressed as they had hoped! Not to drag this too much OT, but Andrew blogged a bit about this: SEarch for "Mexico" on this link: andrewlove.org/blog/?m=200801

Jessica is scheduled to be a guest on the Colbert Report on Monday, Feb 1. She'll be interviewed along with USS Sports Psychologist Nicole Miller in an effort to 'educate' Colbert about his new position as Assistant Sports Psychologist. www.nofactzone.net/?p=20015Don't miss it!

Colbert Report tonight: It was short but sweet - after Nicole Miller's comments on visualization and 'mind tricks', it was Jessica's turn:
Colbert: "Joining me now is Jessica Smith - you are an alternate for the US Olympic Speedskating Short-Track team... Jessica, by being an alternate, does that mean someone else, uh, has to drop out before you can actually go and compete in Vancouver?
Jessica: "Yeah, um, if something were to happen, then I would be the next one sent to Vancouver."
Colbert: "So instead of visualizing your success, wouldn't it be better to visualize someone else's failure (?) - like, to picture somebody snapping a femur would be good for you (?)...
Jessica: "Um, I wouldn't wish that on anyone."
They agreed to continue the 'lesson' in Vancouver...

Jessica has a new website! Actually, it's a new Rocker-U pilot program called 'Sk8rSites'. Sk8rSites are designed to function just like a website, but because they're embedded within an already-existing website, there's no additional cost - to the skater, or to Rocker-U. Check out Jessica's site: www.rocker-u.net/JessicaSmith.htmTags: Jessica Smith / Short Track Speedskating
