Discuss any topics related to this event - trip-planning, pre-competition, post-competition, and 'Game Day' chat!
Before making travel arrangements, double-check with USS and ISU official schedules.
For those who are planning to attend the event, pertinent information gathered here - as it becomes available - will be summarized IN THIS 'INTRODUCTORY' POST for quick-reference.
Please share any info that will be of help those who will be attending the event and/or following along online!------------------------------ KNOWN INFO:MEDIA LINKS; TV COVERAGE; WEBCASTS, LIVE FAN CHAT, ETC.:ISU will be doing a Live Stream of World Cup 1 at the following link: livemanager.eurovision.edgesuite.net/isu/site/index.htmlIt will be only for the medal rounds (Sat/Sun afternoons), and will not be available in Canada, Japan, Korea, China. Canadians may be able to access the medal rounds at the following link: www.cbc.ca/player/Sports/Live+Streaming/ID/2276040814/Tony Chung is not able to do Live Streams from an ISU-controlled event - not his fault, ISU just doesn't allow it. He IS here in Calgary - if he's Tweeting, here's the link: twitter.com/#!/shorttrackhd For the Prelims (Friday) and the repechage rounds (Sat/Sun mornings), you'll find coverage via ISU's live data feed (what we call 'the blinking numbers') - look for the LIVE link in the menu bar, but you'll only see the link when they're actively racing: www.sportresult.com/federations/ISU/ShortTrack/As always, chat will be open here at BB along with whatever other feed is available! I'm attending the event, and will post a report each evening (after dinner)! Btw www.timeanddate.com have a cool timezone converter if,like me, not good with working out time differences :-) Sent from my GT-I9100 using proboards

Good on ya Kimberly Its nice that the US has had such a strong women's team the last few years. For so long it was only 1 or 2 people who were even competitive. Bon chance! (I think )

I made it to Calgary! Larry & I took 2 days to drive up, and it was one of the most beautiful drives I could have ever imagined - at least, until we drove up to Banff & Lake Louise today for some sightseeing! *sigh* It was like being trapped in a postcard! We had a light lunch and a drink at Chateau Lake Louise with an awesome view of the lake. Banff is a village where you could spend days and days eating, shopping and just 'chilling'. It's definitely gonna warrant a return trip in summer, and quite possibly in winter, too - I'd love to see what Banff/Lake Louise is like at Christmas! --------------------------- But back to 'business': The official ISU schedule & event page is not posted yet (should be VERY soon) - but here's what the Oval's Event Website says: www.oval.ucalgary.ca/stwcscheduleTomorrow's prelims are scheduled to start at 9:45am. As I've noted above, ISU will be streaming the event - but they do NOT stream the prelims (tomorrow), nor the repechages (Sat & Sun mornings). You'll have to rely on the 'blinking numbers' for live DATA results during those sessions at the following link: www.sportresult.com/federations/ISU/ShortTrack/(Watch for the LIVE button to appear in the menu during scheduled race times.) For the medal rounds (Sat/Sun afternoons), here is your link: livemanager.eurovision.edgesuite.net/isu/site/index.html

I have not had blinky numbers all day either but I have found if you go do "split times" you can somewhat get the times as they happen you just have to refresh a lot

After 12 hours at the rink, then a quick snack in our hotel room, all I have the energy for is my pillow - my apologies! Need to be up early in the a.m. for the repechages - I hope the blinking numbers AND the ISU stream are working for everyone tomorrow!
